Founded in 1917, Olson Plumbing & Heating Co. was a humble venture by “Olson the Plumber,” who utilized a three-wheeled motorcycle to serve the Colorado Springs community. Today, we stand as one of the largest residential and commercial plumbing, heating, and mechanical contracting companies along the Front Range of Colorado.

In our formative years, A.E. Olson had the privilege of working on esteemed projects such as the Broadmoor, the City Auditorium in 1922, and the new La Junta hospital in 1927, all under the recommendation of Spencer Penrose, a notable Colorado Springs influencer. Over six decades later, we were honored to participate in renovating Penrose’s residence, El Pomar, preserving a part of our heritage and connection to the city’s development.

Ownership transitioned from Olson to Malcolm J. Trapp, but the legacy and the Olson name continued. Under the Trapp family, our portfolio expanded significantly, including landmark projects like the Penrose/St. Francis Hospital, CS Fine Arts Center, El Paso County Courthouse, and many more pivotal developments have shaped the skyline and community of Colorado Springs.
