Fine Arts Center

  • Location: Colorado Springs
  • General Contractor: GE Johnson

In 2007, the FAC completed a spectacular $30 million renovation and expansion. The Fine Arts Center is home to the Taylor Museum of Art, the Bemis School of Art and the newly renovated SaGāJi Theater. David Owen Tryba, a Colorado Springs native, designed the two-story, 48,000 square-foot expansion – bringing the building to a total of 132,286-square feet. Portions of the Fine Arts Center date back to 1936, and the building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center Collection features many masterworks by the top Modern American artists, including Richard Diebenkorn, Georgia O’Keeffe, Walt Kuhn, John Singer Sargent and Dale Chihuly as well as artists connected to the renowned Broadmoor Art Academy.
